Profile

Sir Noam Gottesman is the co-founder of GLG Partners, which merged with Man Group in 2010 to form one of the world's largest hedge fund operations. Gottesman was one of the most successful hedge fund entrepreneurs in Europe.

Born in Israel and raised in Geneva, Gottesman graduated from the Wharton School and worked at Goldman Sachs before co-founding GLG Partners in 1995 with Pierre Lagrange and Jonathan Green.

GLG Partners grew to manage over $26 billion at its peak and was the largest hedge fund IPO when it listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007. After the merger with Man Group, Gottesman stepped back from day-to-day management. He was knighted in 2010 for services to philanthropy. His net worth is estimated at approximately $3.5 billion.
