Lee Ainslie III is the founder and managing partner of Maverick Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund managing approximately $11 billion. Maverick is one of the original and most successful Tiger Cub funds.
Ainslie graduated from the University of Virginia and worked as a research analyst under Julian Robertson at Tiger Management. He founded Maverick Capital in 1993, initially based in Dallas, Texas, which was unusual for a hedge fund at the time.
