Documented fund track record, "Market Wizards" by Jack Schwager, Institutional Investor
Bruce Stanley Kovner is the founder of Caxton Associates, a macro hedge fund that was one of the most successful in the world during its prime. Kovner is regarded as one of the greatest macro traders in history, alongside George Soros and Paul Tudor Jones.
Kovner's path to trading was unconventional. He drove a taxi cab, attended Harvard's Kennedy School (but didn't finish), and began trading commodity futures in the late 1970s, reportedly turning an initial $3,000 into $45,000. He founded Caxton in 1983.
Caxton generated average annual returns of approximately 21% over 28 years, with only one losing year. Kovner retired from active trading in 2011, passing management to Andrew Law. His net worth is estimated at approximately $7.7 billion. He was famously profiled in Jack Schwager's "Market Wizards" and is known for his intense privacy.
