Andrew Spokes is the co-chief executive of Lansdowne Partners, one of the UK's oldest and most established hedge funds, managing approximately $4 billion in assets.
Spokes co-founded Lansdowne in 1998 along with Steven Heinz and Paul Ruddock. The firm specialises in European equity long/short strategies and was for many years one of the highest-performing funds focused on European markets.
Lansdowne is known for its rigorous fundamental research process, deep sector expertise in European industrials and financials, and its relatively concentrated portfolio. The firm experienced challenges during the 2010s as the European equity long/short space became more competitive, but remains a respected and durable franchise.
